DETROIT -- The Detroit Grand Prix has reached a two-year extension with Chevrolet to keep a race on Belle Isle through at least 2016. The announcement was made Tuesday. Auto racing returned to Detroit in 2012 following a four-year absence thanks in part to a three-year deal with Chevy. Without the new contract, this years IndyCar races could have potentially been the last ones scheduled in the Motor City.
