San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Diego Padres and pitcher Brandon Morrow have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the deal is worth $2.5 million guaranteed with incentives based on his role as either a starter or reliever. Morrow spent the past five seasons with Toronto after pitching for Seattle for three years. He owns a career record of 42-43 with a 4.28 ERA in 231 games, including 108 as a starter. The 30-year-old right-hander appeared in only 13 games last season for Toronto, missing most of the campaign because of a torn tendon sheath in his right index finger. He made six starts before suffering the injury in early May and pitched out of the bullpen when he returned in September. Injuries have been a factor for Morrow, who made 30 starts just once, in 2011 with Toronto when we was 11-11 with a 4.72 ERA. He was 10-7 with a 2.96 ERA in 2012, but was limited to just 21 starts because of an oblique strain. His 2013 season was also cut short because of a forearm strain.
